I was wondering if any groups or people on here would be interested in socialising generally?
I don't mean sporting events and days out or those kind of organised events, but just hanging out, eating out or eating pizza in with some beers/homemade cocktails, and going for drinks in some of HCMCs fine drinking establishments, now and then, and maybe even dancing badly on a dancefloor somewhere.
My husband and I moved here in the summer from London, and it'd be cool to meet people who like going out to pubs and bars, having dinner, watching the football (husband supports Tottenham, I used to teach in East London, so should really adopt them too!),who particularly like indie music (The National, Wild Beasts, Pavement, Life in Film, Tame Impala, old Britpop like suede and blur and older stuff like The Kinks, Small Faces etc)and, well, just having a laugh.
If you fancy any of these types of things, it'd be cool to have more people to do them with. If you don't, well I don't expect we'll be meeting!

I just moved to HCMC in the beginning of January and will stay here for a couple of months. I am working in a hotel as a part of my studies but of course also to discover Vietnam and some other places in SE Asia. Coming from Switzerland this is all very new to me as you can imagine.
I'd love to meet up for some drinks and get to know some bars/clubs/restaurants to go out. Since I am new in town I don't know much places, I hope you have some suggestion?

It's possible that the OP isn't following this thread so I'd like to put forward a meetup for anyone interested on Sat 11th Feb around 6:30pm.
I don't actually arrive in Saigon until the end of next week so I have no idea of any suitable place to meet. Does anyone have any suggestions. I guess some restaurant or bar in district 1 would be convenient for everyone?

I am relocating to HCMC in a weeks time for a min. of two years.
I'm a massive The National fan and also into Brit pop, so much so that i play in a Smiths tribute band back here in Oz.
I'm really interested in meeting people once i get there that are like minded and are into seeing live music or going to indie clubs.
Not having been to HCMC for a while, i'm not sure if these places exist? If they do, hopefully we can get a crowd organized.
