Freelance income from abroad and tax

Hello,
I have been working freelance for a company based in the UK. Up until August 2020, I was a resident in the UK but I have since moved to the Netherlands (Sept 2020) (where I hold a residence permit)

Do I need to declare my freelance income here? what is the process of doing so?

I would really appreciate your help with this

Hi again.

When you registered with the Gemeente where you live, you will have received a BSN number; your registration notifies the Belastingdienst of who you are and where you live.  At the end of the tax year (Jan > Dec), you will receive the dreaded blue envelope, this will contain your annual tax return.

Your taxes will be a bit complicated because you have both income and social taxes in the Netherlands and you will be assessed on your worldwide income for the last 12 months.  Because of this, I'd advise you to consider using a tax consultant; it's not unusual to do this, you can either find your own or use the Services section at the top of this page to find one who has advertised in our Forum.

Hope this helps.
