Does someone know how SALIK (the road toll system) works, please ?

A recharge of 300 AED / month is enough?

Hi Marwa,

whenever you pass any Salik gate you will be paying 4Dhs, maximum charge per day is 24Dhs.

Based on your work place and where you planning to live there is no any Salik gate.

Depends on where you live and where you travel. There are Salik gates at Maktoum and Garhoud Bridges; Al Nahda (Sharjah road) - 2 gates; Sheikh Zayed Road - one near Safa Park and one near MoE. On Sharjah Road and SZR, you pay for one Salik only if you cross them in a short time (think within 1 hour). Salik gates work all days, except Maktoum Bridge during 10 pm to 6 am. Each time you cross a Salik gate, you will be charged AED 4. It is done by an automatic scan of your car with the Salik sticker installed. You keep charging the Salik account as needed.
