Nurseries and schools in Martinique

I have an opportunity to move to Martinique next year.

Since I have a son who will be three when I go, I would like any information on  nurseries and schooling in Martinique before I make a decision on whether to go for this opportunity.   He is English speaking so any advice on settling into french speaking nurseries and schools would also be appreciated.

Here are a few questions to start...

- From what age is it normal to start school in Martinique.
- Can anyone recommend any Nurseries or primary schools?
- Is there a website with any information about the standards or inspection results of the schools or nurseries in Martinique.

Any responses will be very much appreciated thankyou!!!

Hi Gerardus,
I lived in Case Pilote, Martinique 15 years ago. I can't remember what age children start school but remember that education there is of a very high quality. For any questions you have about education there, simply look at the French model as Martinique complies with that. You must buy all of your own school books - and exams are set at night (at the same time as the children's counterparts in France)Other than that, education is excellent.
