You should get a good guide book, e.g. from the Lonely Planet series, or check the Singapore Tourism Board website. On arrival, also stop at the Tourist Information counter at the airport to pick up some brochures!
Singapore is easy enough to navigate and find information about, that you can do it all by yourself - but if you really want to have (and can pay for) a personal guide, you can book one through a travel agency.
