Baby milk

Hi
Could anyone help me. We are moving out to Khobar in July and my4 month baby is lactose intolerant. Currently he is on Aptamil lactose free formula and only Boots sell it. I have emailed the boots in Saudi but had no response. Does anybody know if this is available out there? Or other options that are?

Many thanks stef

LF formulas of most brands are available, including Aptamil.

Here is a tip to avoid going insane in SA: Never email any business here, you will just be wasting your time and frustrating yourself.  Even calling businesses is not that great, as half the time they don't understand what you are saying, and the other half no one answers.  They don't want to talk to customers on the phone anyway.  The best way to get service (relatively speaking) in this country is face-to-face, because at least then there is less chance that the person won't answer you, as with phone or email.  Think about the level of customer service you are accustomed to in the West, divide it by 10, that's the level here.

Ok thanks. I shall take on board the wise words 👍
Iv just been concerned with the lactose free element as it's very new in the UK so worried it's not out there!? Thanks for your reply

let me check the milk with some of key pharmacy chain like AL NAHDI. let u know in couple of days

Trapezius is so true. Nothing ever gets done here with emails. Boots is plain rubbish. They don't have anything.

All the special ones such as LF, HA, AR, EC are easily available here in pharmacies and supermarkets.  I have hard that the special ones require a doctor's prescription in Western countries, don't know how true that is, but here even medications that require prescription, such as for thyroid, cholesterol, antibiotics, etc., they are all available over the counter.  LOL, they even keep Viagra under the glass shelf right next to the cashier at pharmacies (like candy at supermarket checkout) so that you can pick it up on a whim!

The normal ones are available in 2 sizes, approximately one pound and two pound tins, but the special ones only in the small size.  Price ranges from about 8-10 pounds for the one pound tin special formulas, regular ones being about 6-7 pounds.  As far as I know, Boots here doesn't even carry any formula, just cosmetics, toiletries, and skin care products.

EDIT:

For those curious:

LF: Lactose-free
HA: Hypoallergenic
AR: Anti-regurgitation
EC: Extra care
