Employment Contract

I am offered a new job in a MNC Company here. And about to sign an employment contract for 1 year and that will start on the 1st of September. However, if I sign that contract and will not pursue to work at their company on the said date. Do I have a legal responsibility on it? Will they be able to sue me or file a case against me?

Any thoughts on this would be very helpful. Thanks.

I haven´t heard of anyone being sued for changing his mind but you are of course liable because they will stop looking candidates for your position. If you are not sure, I suggest that you talk to your future employer and have an open dialogue instead of signing the contract right away. :)

Legally speaking, once you sign a contract, it becomes binding of course!

I'd advise that you talk to them about delays in appearing at the job before sending the signed contract.

Raymond

Theoritically they could sue for breach of the contract but this rarely materializes.
