Expand your social circle in Singapore

Hello everyone,

Moving to Singapore means leaving one's family and friends behind. Creating a circle of friends or joining an existing one should therefore be paramount in order to fight loneliness in your host country.

But how can one develop a social network in Singapore? Where and how to meet people there?

How easy is it to meet locals? What about cultural specificities?

Share your advice and experience!

Many thanks in advance,

Priscilla

Likewise any other country its very important to gather your self with group of people specially with some similar interests. Based on my experience well SG people are way to friendly but with certain limits and you need to engage them for some time and give them ample amount of time before they add you in their wolf pack. Though people are interesting and with decent amount of social get together and hung up you can easily found yourself with good circle. Cheers!

Try meetup.com. It has various groups that u can join according to your own interests. From sports to travel to dining. I've personally made some really good friends there at the most unexpected events. :)
