Hey guys! I'm Joe from Bangkok, Thailand. I am moving to Auckland probably next year in the late February for educational purpose, as I have been offered to study master at the faculty of Arts, University of Auckland.
I have acknowledged that Auckland is a cultural hub city containing ethics diversities. I wonder if there are a lot of Asians, Chinese in particular? I have been told that most Asians in NZ live in Auckland.
I have been in Christchurch last year and I found that some of the citizens are Asians. So I am curious how numerous Asians are in Auckland? like walking in the street am I supposed to see Asians 5 out from 10?
Additionally, what about in Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia?
Please note that this is just my curiosity NZ demographics compared to those mentioned cities in Australia

Hi Joe, you're definitely not alone, there are over 200,000 Asians living in Auckland. It certainly makes food choices a lot more interesting and varied. We also have the night markets where you can sample different cultures food. http://www.aucklandnightmarket.co.nz/anmhome/ There are many Chinese here also Indian, Filipino, Japanese. I am not sure about Melbourne and Brisbane but I believe it would be similar. A lot come here like you, to study, some love it and settle if they can and others move to Australia or back home once they've finished. Good luck to you.
