Check out www.ibilik.my or www.mudah.com.my for room rentals (up to RM1k per month).
Otherwise there are studios which cost around RM1.5-8 per month. It all depends where you need to stay, which ones will be convenient as the public transport does not have complete coverage.

Can you be more specific on the place and the requirements... There are many ppl who rent room/rooms for short term...
