Hard to work in Lausanne as an American?

I am interested in moving to and working in Lausanne (Leysin?), but it sounds virtually impossible to find work there unless you're a specialist of some sort.  Can anyone comment on this?  I'd appreciate any experience!

Thanks,
Colleen

Blueberry70,

If you have a work permit, you should be able to find a job.
But if you NEED to get a work permit to be able to come to Switzerland, then I agree, virtually impossible unless you're a specialist of some sort or have a Schengen Passport.

I don‘t understand what you mean with this: „Lausanne (Leysin?)“.

Lausanne and Leysin are not the same place if that is the question. Leysin is a ski resort in the mountains, but both places are in the canton Vaud.

Then I hope you do realize that life in Switzerland (with two kids and pets) is going to be expensive! You‘ll need more than a simple job to cover all the costs that you will face here.

In case you didn‘t know, Lausanne is in the French speaking part of CH and I think it‘s a beautiful little city with view over the lake and the Mont Blanc mountain (MB is in France and is the highest mountain in Europe).
