Hi, our family is getting ready to move to TZ in the coming months and we are submitting application for work visas this week. We just heard word from some people in country that there was some issues with getting these work permits. As it was told to us "all people with work permits were required to turn them in about a year and half ago, and most are still waiting to get them"
I am wondering if anyone knows more info about this? Why they might be getting held up, and if all are or some, etc?

All work permits are to be renewed at after 31DEC2012. we are moving to a plastic card (just like a drivers license. It dose not matter if your work permit is good till 2015 at the next of this year you turn in your old paper one and will get the new plastic one.
Now in Arusha we have been told that the new ones are not ready yet and that there will be a public notice as to when they are ready.
You do not have to pay a fee for a whole new permit if your old one is still good.

better to get work permit and then do not come without wrok permit is very dangerous to live in tz dar es salaam
