I plan on visiting Europe in mid-late 2016 and would like to stay about a year or so. I am wondering how I go about doing this without getting a country specific visa? I would like to stay in Portugal/Spain first for a couple of months and them move on. Will a Schengen visa do the trick? I am a US citizen and have been living in Ecuador for the past 2 years. thanks for any/all advice.
