With the crisis in the middle east and the recent increase in asylum applications does anyone know if this will increase the waiting time for family immigration permits?

Maybe not because they are different persons that is handling the case.

From what I've heard yes, as they are being given priority over other categories of immigrants.

Have you not heard of the syrian migrants crisis? The refugee centres are completely full, including the new one. They are all seeking aslyum+.
