Depression after visiting home?

I moved abroad a year ago, and just recently made a visit back to my home country. Since the visit, I've felt really down and just kind of "in a funk." I'm not necessarily thinking about about my choice to move or about missing home, but I just feel generally unmotivated, tired and like day-to-day things are a hassle.

Has anyone else felt this way after a visit back? What did you do to snap back?

Hi Ted,

Welcome to the forum, also please feel free to introduce yourself in the 'New Members' section so you can interact better with other members.

Regarding your post, I can't really say I have ever been depressed on return, but I guess if your routine breaks, you can feel pretty lethargic or 'in a funk' as you stated, regardless of change of place.

If it happens to me, I guess it gets fixed up once I settle into my routine. Else, I just get out of my house and try to do something outdoors, like visit another part of city, preferably the sea or some close-by natural forest! Else, i try to do some running, or walking. Going out of home helps anyway. : )
