The other side of the Bruneian postcard

Hi,

As a tourist in a foreign country, very often, we are enchanted with what we discover.

Living abroad is different. It's a rich experience but there are also some difficulties to face.

When people ask me for advice on living abroad, I then tend to say that one should also look at both sides of the postcard.

As an expat in Brunei, how would you describe the two sides of your Bruneian postcard?

Thank you for sharing your experience,

Julien

Important to take note that in Brunei all businesses (including eateries) will close on fridays from 12 noon - 2pm to observe the national Islamic prayer time. ;)

And we have no MRT. Suggest to hire a car to move around. ;)

Ive witnessed and heard horror stories of foreigners treated with disrespect in road traffic incidences. The locals want to feel special but I've never seen punches pulled.
