Sending and receiving packages in Morocco

Hello,

As an expat, there are inevitably certain items you might want or need from back home, and around the holiday period, many people like to send gift packages.

How easy is it to send and receive packages in Morocco?

Is the public postal system efficient?

Do people tend to prefer using private shipping services? Which ones?

How do the costs of the private shipping services compare?

How long does it take generally to receive packages from abroad in Morocco?

Do you have to pay taxes on items received by mail from abroad?

Are packages delivered right to your doorstep, or do you usually have to go collect them somewhere?

Thank you for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Hi Pricilla
Sorry I don't have the answer to this, but I am sure other people will be able to help us both

Best regards
Hanlie

Mee too, I don't have any experience in sending and receiving packages, but i asked once in DHL to send something , but i found it very expensive.. so I just tell someone going or coming from india, to bring or to send some things..

How easy is it to send and receive packages in Morocco? Easy but you have to be carefull who you choose. Who you choose depends on what you send/from where...

Is the public postal system efficient? I don't find their communication good nor professional. I received a package which was to be received by me by signature but they just delivered it to the concierge of the building.

The ones i know deliver in BE and NL

How do the costs of the private shipping services compare?
Depends on port of loading/weight/volumeweight ect

How long does it take generally to receive packages from abroad in Morocco?
Depends on port of loading

Do you have to pay taxes on items received by mail from abroad?
Not on personal goods/gifts

Depends on what you agree upon. You can find forwarders in Casablanca, Casablanca is mostly for maritime but they do all transportmodi. Tanger is more known for transport by road
