The best things to discover in Belgium

Hello everyone,

What have you discovered in Belgium that you would recommend to other expats?

Are there any places that you enjoy visiting on the weekends, be it areas of natural beauty or shopping malls? Are there any Belgian dishes that you would recommend?

What are some of the best activities in Belgium?

Are there any unique customs or places you were introduced to by locals that you think other expats might be interested in? Are there any local festivals that expats might want to get involved with?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Priscilla

Belgium is the most boring land I have ever seen. Their main dish is chips and their drink is beer. Shoppings close as early as 7 pm. don't bother yourself with activities and food here.

I am into jazz music so I'm always on the look out for jazz festivals and I am so lucky there are a couple of big ones in Ghent this summer:

So not true. You just haven't found the stuff you are into yet!

I wish I could say, there are interesting things in Belgium if you look into but I cannot.  This is such an inactive, tasteless and sleepy country and each time when I come back from other countries, I get depressed.

Antwerp and Ghent seems very lively but I am living in Bruxelles and it is so boring.

Thanks for your inputs.  I shall open my windows!
