What sort of rice? The more expensive, the better?

When in Canada, I am offered three or four sorts of rice. I choose the Jasmine perfumed one.

Here, I usually shop at Tesco or Big C where I am offered around thirty different brands and types, ranging from 50 to 250 Bahts for the same quantity.

I learned that Jasmine is Hom Mali type but here again, I am proposed lots of brands.

Anyone here has an idea of "the best possible rice"?

And help me understand different types...

TIA

Gerry

Not sure about the precise price, but the one my wife choose in Makro is a pack of 5 kg around 150-175 THB and it must be written 100% jasmine, sometimes she buy also organic brow rice in smaller quantity from a friend, and mixed them together.

Thanks Thierry,
There is a Makro here, I should pay them a visit,
However, I'd be glad to receive other answers about /other/ sorts of rice found here.
One of them I had in a restaurant in Bangkok had long grains and was delicious. Not bad for white rice!
I asked the waiter who said he did not know and noone did either.
