Cost of living in China
Hi everybody,
It would be very useful to talk about the cost of living in China.
Don't forget to mention where in China you are living.
How much does it cost to live in China?
> accommodation prices
> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc ...)
> food prices(per month, how much does it cost you?)
> health prices (for those who need medical insurance)
> eduction prices (if you need to pay)
> energy prices (oil, electricity)
> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)
> prices of a good menu in a traditional restaurant
> prices of a beer and or a coffee in a regular pub
> price of the cinema
Do not hesitate to add items to this list!
Thanks in advance for your participation!!

Re: Cost of living in China
Okay, here are my answers:
* Accommodation prices: 2000 yuan to 2500 yuan per month
* Transportation fares:
o On campus: 1 yuan for a trolley, 5 yuan for a taxi.
o To nearby city (25 to 40 minutes away): 2 yuan for a bus, 20 to 30 yuan for a taxi.
* Food prices: about 1000 yuan per month at the supermarket. You could spend less if you wanted to, but equally you spend quite a but more.
* Electricity and water: about 300 yuan per month.
* Internet: 750 yuan per year for cable Internet
* Mobile phone: maybe 100 yuan to 200 yuan per month
* Decent traditional restaurant: 20 to 30 yuan per dish.
* Beer or coffee: 12 yuan to 20 yuan.
This is near Langfang Hebei. I've written a more detailed post the cost of living in china on my blog if anyone is interested.
This is an interesting topic so I hope more of you answer this!
