Stayed out of the country more than 6 months

Good Day Colleagues,

I stayed out of the country more than 6 months, my visa is valid until next year 2015 but my resident permit (Qatar ID) is expired last September. Can I return to work in Qatar with same sponsor? I read an article in Qatarday.com regarding "Visa is granted for an expatriate on the sponsorship of an establishment, who has stayed out of the country more than 6 months and his residence permit is still valid." but in my case my residence permit is expired.
