Hi Ali,

On behalf of the entire Expat-blog Team, welcome on board. I hope your experience here on the blog will be both enjoyable and informative.

In regard to your question on your post to Dan, there is a demand for English teachers in almost all of the state capitals throughout Brazil, obviously to a somewhat lesser degree in smaller states, unfortunately.

I'd suggest applying at a few of the local language schools like CNA, CCAA, Fisk to start with. You won't earn much, but between a couple of schools you should be able to get quite a few hours in. Once you've done that start recruiting private students who will pay much more than the schools pay their teachers. Just don't snag any students from the schools, bad business that! Post an ad here in the classified section, get some leaflets printed up, create a website, etc., anything that will attract students. It takes a while to build up a student roster so be patient.
