Is a gross salary of EUR 30,000/ annum is ok in budapest

Hi friends

I am an IT consultant in the field of SAP supply chain with 9 years of experience across the globe in various industry in the field of supply chain.

Recently I have got an offer from a company in Budapest for the position of a IT manager and they are offering me  EUR 30,000 gross per annum. apart from that their will be a bonus of upto 20 % of the annual component ( i.e approx EUR 5000 gross extra ).


What do you think about this salary, considering that i am married and have one kid.

Is this salary at par or less ?? Please share your views.

It's more than most people make, but taxes are high and inflation works against you on the long run. I'd do it if it was a career move.

You would be rich here.  The President only makes $87,000 a year so you have to keep things in perspective.  The salary for a physician (for example) here is a bit over $1,200 Euros a month although most supplement for cash office visits after hours. My next door neighbor is a General in the Army making around $2000 a month which is considered high here.
