Porridge

Anyone know where around Stavanger I can buy proper porridge oats?
Scottish or Irish the Norwegian stuff tastes like your chewing cardboard. Even somewhere that has plain Quaker as that's made for them by Scotts.

Hi fearnpol and welcome to the forum!

Do not hesitate to post an advert in Stavanger classifieds, it may help, who knows?;)

Harmonie.

I'm not sure I've seen quite what you're looking for. I brought a box of oats over from Scotland last time I was there. I guess you have seen the Quaker oats which are flavoured. The only other stuff I have found has been the Norwegian stuff which comes in a bag. I guess you have seen that too. Perhaps a health food shop might have it, or might be able to get it. I know there are some such shops in Oslo which import a lot of that sort of thing from the UK.

Good luck.

Have you tried plain'havre gryn'? It's just plain rolled oats... but honestly I import porridge on trips home...

hi, Quaker is sold at most Rimi supermarkets.  But if you cant find it in your local marketplace then try Helgø's / Meny.  good luck !
