@ TheLegendLeads welcome :)

Question:  does it hurt?  I've got the same thing on my right elbow.. I think it must be from computer useage!!

See if you can get us a 2-for-1 deal at the dermatologists

Yes it does hurt; but sometimes. Especially if left exposed to direct AC air.

Seems TRUE! I use that left elbow a lot. I never cared for a couple of years; but yesterday someone told me that such things can be either harmless (forgot the exact medical term) or 'cancerous'. Scared me off a LOT :o. Will see a doc tomorrow and will ask for 2-in-1 deal :) I'm sure he/she'll advise to go for a surgery....NAHHHHH; No way!!!

My sis is a doc as well; she prescribed a course of antibiotics.

A skin cyst is usually "benign," there are some medication to take to make it shrink but if unresponsive and painful it should be removed surgically. It will take less than an hour. If the cyst is being removed, a biopsy should be done to make sure that it is not "malignant".

Don't worry, usually it is non-cancerous.

:one @eddamylene,
Like America's idiom "Just what the doctor ordered" info.

Mine doesn't hurt at all.  Okay, if you grasp it firmly between your thumb and forefinger and wriggle it around, is it perfectly round?  (I'm referring to your cyst, of course )

 Tried. I can't assess the perfection of roundness. It hurts Allie! :/

Ok, I just got back from the dermotogist. He blew my mind in fact. I told him the entire story. he kept listening looking at me and then said in extreme cold tone "You had something similar in the back side of your right earlobe 5 years back".
 "How do you know doc?"
...."I am the same doctor whom you consulted :). I remember you precisely. And also i remember I refered you to a surgeon who removed it thru a minor surgery."

Interesting experience. Though I doubt he remembers that much. He must have looked at my medical records in the computer :)

Anyways, he said my skin has tendency to build such benign crysts. In fact everyone does have tiny ones; most of the times invisible & painless. It's useless to go for surgery as mine are malignant i.e. they'll come back again.

So, as my doc sis had said: he has given me antibiotics to suppress the size; and a pain-killer in case needed.

@Alliecat, you too; do consult a doctor.

Recurrent cysts doesn't mean it is malignant. A malignant one means it is cancerous.

Aaaaaah......! I blew the term :(

Good to know that nothing is serious. :)

You scared the hell out of me. I was touching my right earlobe to find out the small cyst type thing which comes in every 3-4 months and remains there for 10-15 days and dies down !!

An update on this mates!

I am on a short vacation to my home country these days. Just thought to take the 2nd opinion. In seconds, the doc (surgeon) diagnozed it as neurofibroma -- a nerve tumour. Excision done in 15 minutes coz it was hurting.

Ridiculously and horribly, my dermo in Riyadh had diagnosed it as a under-skin pimple

My2c: don't count on a single medical advice. Do ask 3/4 specialists.

Glad to know it (again :P) we miss you bro !
