Hi,
Is anyone else having problems using their Maestro card in ATM machines in Libya? I have contacted my bank who are unaware of any problems-but it has to be more than a coincidence that many people I have spoken to regarding this are facing the same problem-unable to use-The ATMs (It has been tried in several around the city of TRIPOLI) will not recognise these cards any longer particularly AMAN Bank. So...does anyone out there know why?...This is really inconvenient-not being able to access your own account! Any relevant suggestions would be most welcome!... Cheers!

Many non-Libyan banks have reciprocal arrangements with Libyan banks and these arrangements are often subject to sudden changes. Have you actually asked in any of the banks where you've been trying to use the card?
I have a Visa Delta debit card issued from a Nigerian bank and never have any problems with the card itself; it's the ATM's which are frequently out of service or out of money.
