I currently have an orientation visa and plan on changing to a freelance visa. However, because of the circumstances, I don't think I can apply for it until a week or so before my current visa expires. I know that once you are applying for a visa you are legally allowed to stay in the Netherlands even if you do not have a visa until a decision is given but I am wondering if this will create a gap in my stay if I don't get a new visa before my current one expires?
Will this create a gap in my stay when I switch visas?
