we are a couple from Canada in our early 60's looking to see if we want to do long term stays in Mexico. Our first try at this will be a one month stay in Puerto Vallarta starting in mid-March to see if we are still having fun after 4 weeks. If that works out, we will be looking at doing longer stays. For this trip, we will be staying in a suite in the southern part of the Zona Romantica. We figured we would start with the busy part of town and do our recon of other areas for a future stay. So I am looking for pointers on places to eat (we are not high end spenders), places to recon for future long term stays, best place to buy beer in bulk and is there good beach volleyball. And I look at the mountains there and wonder, is there good hiking up there?
