Hi,

I've been living as an expat in Equatorial Guinea for 2 years now. I am living in Malabo, the island part of EG, which is a little bit more expensive than the continental part.

First of all u should know that EG is very expensive, due to the oil and Gas activity.

The prices indicated are in XAF. u can go check the conversion rates on wwww.oanda.com.

> accommodation prices

Houses are pretty expensive, and very difficult to find. For an appartement wit air conditionner, generator and water, u would need to pay at least XAF 1,000,000

> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc ...)

The only public transportation taken by expat are taxis. U should pay XAF 500 for transportation wihin malabo and XAF 1000 from the city to the suburb. from teh airport to the city it's XAF 3000.

> food prices(per month, how much does it cost you?)

Per month it costs around 600,000 per person. (Including restaurants)

> health prices (for those who need medical insurance)

The medical insurance fees will depend of the insurance company. However, a doctor in Malabo would take around XAF 15,000 for a visit and for a malaria test it is between XAF 5000 to 15000.

> eduction prices (if you need to pay)

> energy prices (oil, electricity)

For a house of 3 rooms i am paying XAF 180,000. It is quite expensive because oif the consumption of teh several air conditionner. But if you have a generator, you will have to add the price of oil to this bill.

> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)

Internet: XAF 30,000 per months for a fairconnection
Telephone: rarely used
Cell phone: a line costs between XAF 2,000 to XAF 5,000. The minutes of communication is around XAF 180 per minute.

> prices of a good menu in a traditional restaurant

In a european style restaurant the menu will be between XAF 6,000 and 15,000.

In african redstaurant, it will be around XAF 6,000

> prices of a beer and or a coffee in a regular pub

Beer is very cheep

Beer in an african bar: XAF 500 to 1000, ina  pub or night club: XAF 2000. Coffee is always between XAF 500 to XAF 2000
