My name is Mark, I grew up in Wales, but now live in Colombia, South America, where I teach English to executives and university students. I go trekking in the surrounding mountains to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. I am passionate about photography and cooking, but only vegetarian food as I became a vegetarian six years ago after many hours of meditation. I don't follow any religion, but lean ever so gently towards Buddhism.
I joined expat.com on 24 July 2013.

Learning all about the travel industry and slowly becoming more responsible.
As before - A great city.
Travelling round South America - one year sabbatical
The excitement of being free to travel slowly, without rushing to see all the interesting sights in one week.
Some of the hotels I stayed in were pretty bad, but I was young, so I didn't care that much.
Working as a Land Surveyor
I was young and for me it was so exciting to be in Iraq. I enjoyed every minute I spent there, such an interesting country.
I liked everything really, but now sadly the country has been ruined by war.
Studying Land Surveying and Cartography
What can you say about London in a few words? I'm not a great fan of large cities, but London is an exception. It's an amazing city, there is so much to do and so much fun to have. The city has someting for everyone.
It's quite expensive, especially if you are visiting from countries where the cost of living is much lower.
Growing up
Cardiff, is a beautiful, small city with lots of interesting activities to relieve boredom. The beaches and mountains are within easy reach of the city, as are various castles and parks.
Sometimes it rains too much!!!
