Last summer I moved here from Michigan [USA] to be with my boyfriend that I met a year before at a wedding. Now I'm currently looking to connect with other ex-patriots in the area who could give me good tips on surviving and flourishing in Holland.
I joined expat.com on 23 February 2010.
I moved to be with my boyfriend.
I love to ride my bike everywhere. Its so bike friendly that you don't have to worry about cars not seeing you. I also love Sinterklaas day, Carnaval, stroopwafels, windmills when they are milling, and my boyfriend!
I grew up here but moved back to the area from D.C.
I got to spend time with my family more. I also reconnected with a lot of old friends which was great! Its very calm place to live after being in a big city for 7 years. It has some cute shops in the downtown area and great pubs for a good night out with friends. Wonderful activities in the park during the summer months.
Not much for a single woman in her thirties to do. Most people are settled down by then whereas in a bigger city they are single longer.
