We moved to Central Portugal in December 2013 having spent several years in a country village just outside Cambridge. It was, frankly, a toss up between Portugal and France because we love both countries. After spending the summer in Portugal and the autumn in France we left the beautiful Charente Maritime and returned to Portugal. We already had a house there, the weather is warmer and we had made lots of friends already. I live with my husband, two children and a dog and we are currently in the middle of renovating our holiday home in Portugal and looking for a more permanent home nearer Lisbon. Facing problems of education, renovation, language, and leaving family in the UK, but it's all worth it and one of life's great experiences for the children.
