I recently(2011) bought a house south of Lake Balaton and am in the process of renovating it. I would appreciate any advice regarding trades people, materials sourcing, etc. My intention is to do most of the renovation work myself over time and outsource work where necessary. My house is located in a village of around 1000 people just south of Marcali. I now have a few words in Hungarian but certainly not enough to hold a conversation in Hungarian. I have some contacts locally who can speak English (albeit, not very well). They can understand my language (English) much better than I can understand theirs (Hungarian) I would be interested to meet up with English speaking people in the area.
