Gutsywriter   Belizian in Panama
I love life and travel adventures. My husband, Duke and I met 23 years ago through a singles ad. We have three sons now 20, 18 and 14. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, I lived the first 6 years in Nigeria, West Africa. My parents then moved to Paris. I'm fluent in French and Danish and I received my B.Sc. in Environmental Science from UEA (University of East Anglia) in Norwich, U.K. After several years hopping between Scotland, Belgium and France, I finally settled in California where I met Duke, in 1986. Four years ago, we decided to leave our "frazzled" suburban life in Orange County, California and move to a more "tranquil" life in the Caribbean. We yanked our three sons out of their "cushy" Orange County life to live on a tropical island. We sold everything, including our house, our cars and all our furniture and moved to Ambergris Caye, a beautiful island off the coral reef. I kept a journal writing about our life in Belize, the good and the bad and how it changed our family. In 2005, we returned to our old neighborhood in Orange County, and after completing several writing classes, my goal is to publish my book, "From Freeways to Flip-Flops."
