  • I liked your "View from the back seat" post. My wife and I recently were in Hyderabad, but encountered no difficulties with the autos.
    If you want a real challenge, however, go to Kolkata and try to take a taxi. Most, inexplicably, will not take you as a passenger, and of the few that do, even fewer will go by the metered rate.

    • Hey Micky - thanks for your thoughts. The endless variety of what autos/cabs will and won't do in different cities completely defeats me. It seems so set in one city and then is utterly different somewhere else... presumably it's coming from city ordnances or something? Whatever it is, it's confusing to the traveller!
