Hi Pasha82,

Welcome to Expat.com :)

Thank you for your introduction, i would like to inform you that with your recent post i have created a new thread on our Copenhagen forum for a better visibility.

I invite you to post an advert on ourHousing in Copenhagen that may boost your research.

Thank you

Hi Paul

It is difficult to find a house at a reasonable price in the Copenhagen area, and therefor people have to commute. It will also be difficult to find an apartment. It will only be possible to find an apartment on the private market as there are long waiting lists, and prices are high.

Could not your firm help you a little? Will you bring with you your wife and son from the very beginning? What is your price level? How long time will you spend on commuting? Where in Copenhagen is the firm located?

I would suggest to you to have a look at this site boligportalen.dk where owners and renters can find each other. Unfortunately, the site is in Danish. Be careful not to be trapped. I should like to help you if I can, but again, it would be nice if you could get help from your future employer.

I have found this ad
- boligportal.dk/lejebolig/dp/2-vaerelses-lejlighed-vedbaek/id-4057272
Vedbæk is a lovely place, and there will be train connection to Copenhagen.
The housing is very cheap, indeed so cheap that I found it suspicious, but the explanation is that the house is put on for sale and the rent is temporary from 2 - 12 months with one months notice. (The address is Fredensvej 1, Vedbæk. Another thing is that the housing is actually a cellar. Not a dream housing in my opinion). However, it would be much easier for you to find a housing when first here and someone can help you so perhaps it would be ideal for you.

You need to pay a deposit of 10.000 DKK, but you will have to pay a deposit everywhere. It will cost 9 DKK to mail the owner on this site. The ad is, however, quite new, dated as it is from the 25th of July.

Remember that all prices are negotiable.

Again, ask your employer for help in finding a housing.

Good luck

Nellie Wow, thanks for the reply ) I will try to answer:

1. I start to work from 1 September. The first month I will live for free, the company has own apartment.

2. For a month I will have to find an house/apartment/flat. My employer is in Frederiksvaerk, so I will look for an apartment in the area of 40-50 km from Frederiksvaerk and Copenhagen

3.Budget 8500 per month including utilities payments

4. The family willcome to me when I find an apartment.

P.S. The house you found seems  a good place for a child

Hello again

Vedbæk is a good location if you should have worked in Copenhagen, but not when the location is in Frederiksværk. There is a railway from Hillerød to Hundested (every 30 minutes), so I think you should concentrate on looking for housings in the area from Hillerød to Hundested. It will also make it easier to find a housing and also much cheaper than the housings closer to Copenhagen.

I have been looking at various house sites, but have not found anything. It is private people who put their house or apartment for rent for a short or longer time. Many house owners cannot sell their house and rent out instead. It is my impression that you have to act quickly if you find something of interest, but I would not do that without having first seen the house/apartment. And never pay in advance.
These are the sites I have looked at. I am not sure how good they are, but just to give you an impression of the sites. Many of the housings are not current anylonger, so there seems to be many, but there are not.

Have a look at the sites and get an impression of the offers, but wait until you are here and can get help from your employer and colleagues. Maybe, some of them know of something. I am sure your employer won't set you on the street if it takes a little more than a month.

Hi again

I forgot to mention that you have the possibility to apply for a rent allowance. The amount depends on the size of the rent, how many rooms there are, the number of the people who will live in the apartment and finally their income. You can have one more room than the number of the residents without deduction.
Have a look here: https://lifeindenmark.borger.dk/Pages/default.aspx

On this page, here you can make an immediate calculation to get an overview of how much the allowance will amount to. If you cannot find out (it is in Danish, I know), I shall try helping you if you give me the information needed.

I also forgot to mention that after half a year you will be entitled to some child benefit.

You are welcome again if there is something I can help you with.
