its been a month since my iqama expired, and i wanted to go on vacation. but my employer told me that i should wait for 3 months because they will try to renew my iqama.!
question is?
what are the risk involved in overstaying and is their any penalties that i should pay or the company will be the liable for my overstay?

It's better to obtain a stamped certificate frm ur employer mentioning that iqama renewal under process. I hope it will help u if u caught at any check post or checking.
Keep pressuring ur employer to renew it asap as it could lead a problem for u.
