Currency to be used in Bahrain

hey guys

Saad this side from India.

I wanted to know whether i can use saudi riyal in bahrain normally or there are some specific outlets only which accept saudi riyal

thanks in advance

You can use them everywhere, certainly have never been refused.  Occasionally, they will try to charge you for exchange rate but not often.

You can't use Dinars in Saudi though.

You can use Saudi Riyals everywhere in Bahrain.

10 Saudi riyals = 1 Bahraini Dinar.

Do keep in mind, some shops and outlets do not accept denominations lower than 10 riyals.

I've never been refused to use Saudi Riyals in Bahrain. If you want to exchange Riyals to Dinars, I would use BFC which is located across number of malls and the airport in Bahrain. Based on my experience, they offer the best exchange rate for many currencies. Some places also do accept other GCC currencies such as UAE Dirhams.

thanx a lot scottrace, farhaz and brightonguy

you guys are doing an awesome job!!

We get paid SAR in Saudi, we withdraw it and pay it in to our Bahrain bank and it's BD50 for a SAR500 note. IF we do a transfer however it kills us with the exchange rate so we are forced to draw it out in cash.
