While this is a horrific event for most all of Java, it seems that Gunung Kelud was smiling on Bali, because, if this latest eruption occurred during the dry season, Bali would have been in a serious mess.
The easterly to westerly wet season trade winds carried Kelud's ash as far away as Bandung, some 680 kilometers west of Gunung Kelod, while our little island sits only half that distance to the east and we could very well have had accumulations of 3 to 5 cm of ash over much of Bali, had Kelud waited a few months.
Our prayers for our brothers in Java, and our offerings to Gunung Agung that it stays in a deep sleep.

I have yet to see any pictures from my old stomping ground of Wonosobo but I understand they collected quite a bit of ash.
Much as it makes a mess, the long term produces very nice soil and better crops.

in Jogja we're praying for rain. looks like there's more ash than there was after the last Merapi eruption.

I thought the rain makes matters worse, especially on roofs where the ash turns into a concrete like mixture, very heavy and causing roofs to collapse?

thank heaven we had some rain yesterday, and I haven't heard of any collapsed roofs.
I think that could be the case some hundred years ago, not now:)
