F1 to K1 conversion

is it possible change visa on the US from F1 -> k1 w/o return to brasil?

genx,

Converting to a K1 is impossible without returning to your country of citizenship. If you and your spouse have been together for over a period of one year you can marry on the F1 and apply a nonimmigrant temporary visa (K3) as a spouse of a US Citizen. Be advised, from your profile you come from Brazil and you should expect extreme scrutiny and with absolute just cause - be prepared to provide photos with your spouse, airline tickets proving he/she visited you PRIOR to your visa issuance to the USA. It is not required but due to the IMBRA (if you do not know what that stands for you, then I will assume you are legit) you are required to prove a relationship prior to marriage for a period of time.

Once a K3 nonimmigrant visa is issued you can have your status adjusted to permanent immigrant after all documentation requirements have been met.
