Savings in Malaysia,KL @ 9k ringits per month

Hi,

I have been offered 9000 Ringits as salary per month. I would be working in KL.

I am single so would be going there alone.

What would be the expenses for me staying in KL and what can I expect to save every month. I am not so lavish somewhat medium in spending habits.

Depending on the area where you live..
Rent = 1.5-3k Again depends if you wanna rent your own house or can live in sharing.
Tax = Flat 26% for first six months.
Monthly food expanses (if eat at a local normal mamak stall) = 800 max
Transportation (if using public transportation only)= 350 max

You should be able to save at least RM4000 if you spend wisely, choose the right location to stay with close proximity to work, probably cater your meals on weekdays & eat out on weekends to explore the many delicious local varieties & cuisines in KL. Many Malaysian families earning a household income of about RM5000 can live decently ok, though not luxuriously. I am a financial planner, I came across many in my line of work.
