I am just curious: will an expat get "native" accent in a couple of yrs - or have a different accent forever?

i think u can 'master' the native accent in a pretty short time if u keep repeating sentences/words/phrases like
rugby ball(eng)-rugby ba'll' where the double l is muted
also they dont use the R in some words u can say spa'r' again the r is muted and the actual word is spar
also they tend to speak very fast
anyways lots of differences between normal eng accent and the nz accent
