A soccer game on Sunday between Mexico and Ecuador at Soldier Field in Chicago (USA) had to be stopped mid-game when Mexican fans refused to stop chanting anti-gay slogans at the Ecuadorian goalkeeper.
Fans had been warned before and during the match not to use anti-gay chants and a protocol was activated during the game that could have caused the whole affair to be 'abandoned' before conclusion.
Some of Mexico's earlier matches had been played 'behind closed doors' over the chanting issue.
The game was ultimately played to conclusion .. and ended up scoreless: 0-0.
