Fingers crossed looking promising.....

Jim

Tbh it's a joke very few here are  wearing masks very few sanitizing and even less distancing not made any easier by tourism being allowed to do whatever they want..

It is still the law here and those caught are still  liable to a €300 fine and €1000 fine for the venue owner ... a lot of disrespect and inconsiderate people about  sadly owners not helping themselves either taking unnecessary risks in trusting people to do the right thing abiding by the law

Bottom line is that it would appear from activity that Covid is over in the paphos district

Don't get me wrong some venues are abiding and enforcing the protocols but they are few but they are the ones we use the rest I won't risk

Anyway take care everyone stay safe stay healthy

Sorry to hear that - things are looking a bit grim again here unfortunately

.Jim

sadly the worse may be yet to come as the schools go back in about two weeks --- authorities here are expecting another wave - but time will tell

UK still has Cyprus on the amber list....  https://cyprus-mail.com/2021/08/26/cypr … mber-list/

Double jabbed persons dont need a pcr test to enter Cyprus  but need to covid test 72hrs before leaving and have an arranged day 2 test in uk...

If not double jabbed then a pcr test is required to enter  = this is valid as your safepass to enter venues etc  only for the first 7 days but thereafter a person must then test every three days....  entry will be refused if you dont have it with you some will ask to see it  some wont but the the fines still apply if inspected by authorities and you cant show it....    the owner will also be fined

Join the dots.

I don't need to join any dots if you do and you have good for you as long as you are happy with your decisions great…  I am happy with mine I don't need your politics or opinions

STILL IN RED

Cyprus remains on the list of red countries with a high notification rate, testing rate and positivity rate for Covid, according to the latest map released on Thursday by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Greece, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia and Ireland also remain in the red. Some areas in Ireland, Greece and France remain in ‘deep red', but the situation has improved in France and Greece.

Italy, Germany and the Nordic countries continue to fall under either the red or the orange category. Meanwhile, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary remain in the green zone.

Red zone areas are defined as the areas where the 14-day cumulative Covid-19 case notification rate ranges from 75 to 200 and the test positivity rate of tests for infection is 4 per cent or more, or the 14-day cumulative case notification rate is more than 200 but less than 500 (when the cumulative rate exceeds 500 the area enters the ‘deep red' zone).

ECDC publishes relevant maps and data every Thursday, in support of the Council recommendation on a coordinated approach to the restriction of free movement in response to the pandemic. The maps are based on data reported by the member states to the European Surveillance System

It's such a shame. You wonder when is the tragedy of a disease going to end. People keep getting vaccinated but the cases and casualties are still increasing day by day. Supposedly all the people who catch Covid didn't get the vaccine. Yet it doesn't make us immune cause I heard people have been diagnosed with coronavirus even after being vaccinated. What to do? So depressing.

This thing isn't going to end it will be with us for a long long time. the sooner we get to grips with taking all the precautions we have got used to using the better and I include visiting tourists as well as locals then  maybe we stand a chance.

Delta variant is here and is the dominant variant but new ones are always going to happen for the virus own survival and a new variant is on its way the mu variant not here yet but it's highly likely to do so

So please where a mask sanitize and distance keep yourself and others safe.

Sadly far too many people are not abiding by the protocols here and as such will simply extend the present level of protocols more than they should be..

Nb it is still mandatory to wear masks in public spaces until 22/09/21 but in paphos it's like it doesn't exist

Sadly true. Let's wait and see.
