Can a retiree buy a house with land in Mauritius or Rodrigues ?

Hello,

I am a self-sufficient British citizen living with the family in the Canary Islands.

I am considering Mauritious or Rodrigues Islands as the next place to live.

In a few years I will be 50. So I will qualify as a retiree, technically.

Is the retiree permit programme still working ?

And mostly important, can I buy a house with land with no direct neighbours in Mauritious or Rodrigues islands ?

Thank you.

Affirmative for your first question pertaining to a retiree.
As far as acquiring property, please read the following:
https://www.edbmauritius.org/info-centre/live-mauritius

FWIW: As a non-citizen, you are  entitled to apply for a Residence Permit following the acquisition of a property having a minimum price of USD 375,000 or its equivalent only if the purchase is made in either a RES, IRS, PDS or SCS.

Excellent. Good to know.

Can you recommend an immigration expert in Mauritius ?

If the procedure to apply for the retiree permit done via https://www.edbmauritius.org ?
