Casa Linda

On the surface it looks like a retirees paradise. What's it like in real life?

Are there golf courses in the area? Major supermarkets? Is driving still ill-advised? Are there any marinas in the area? Just starting our search for a golden years landing spot and Sosua seems to have lots of promise.

Any other advice/suggestions you have would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Jeff

Welcome Jeff!

Here is what I know

Golf - playa dorada gold course is about 25 minutes west.  Playa grande is 2 hours maybe east and is members only.

Supermarkets in Sosua and other big ones in Puerto Plata half hour away.

Don't drive until you know your way around and understand it's every man or woman for himself AND you have a Dominican license (or within your tourist visa)

If golf is the most important look to other areas like the east and south east.  Many many stunning courses  there.

What else is important?

I have seen few threads posted about Casa Linda. How do people hear about it?
