Greetings! I'll be holding a free tea tasting this weekend in Bangkok in three days, this Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM.
I'm not a tea vendor; this is just to share tea. I am a tea blogger, and a co-founder of one of the larger tea groups on Facebook, so I tend to take it all a bit far. The tasting will be at the Sitabutr school in the Sam Yan area, not far from Chula or the Mid-Town (Mitr Town) mall, where my son takes Mandarin lessons at the Oriental Culture Association.

It's hard to say what teas we will taste. I wanted to share exposure to sheng pu'er, and probably offer newer and older versions, since it's a unique tea type related to aging. It's officially only from Yunnan in China, the versions named as "pu'er," just as Champagne is only from France. But it is also produced in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam, and I'll bring versions from some or all of those countries.
Two friends will join who will also bring tea, some from Taiwan, and that other tends to have teas from Thailand and Myanmar, so we'll get to what we get to. Trying more than 10 teas in a sitting doesn't work well so cutting it off after around that much exploration will be necessary.
