Furnished houses

Ola,

Hope you well.

We are relocating to Amsterdam from Johannesburg and will be renting out a fully furnished accommodation that side.

Anyways I wanted to know what all household items are available by default in fully furnished accommodations in Amsterdam?

So i can make a plan what to carry and what to leave.

Also can i carry my Indian spices, lentils, rice etc for the initial days until i find an Indian store?

Thanks

Hi again.

Rental accommodation is generally unfurnished; AirBnB is typically furnished (it's somebody else's house you are borrowing).  My daughter moved back with 2 suitcases, went AirBnB for 2 weeks until she found somewhere.  She furnished it all initially with 2nd hand furniture (except she bought a new mattress), then over time replaced what she had bought and didn't like very much.

You can buy rice in every food shop in the Netherlands, whether it's what you like is another matter.  Dried foods shouldn't be a problem unless it's been made from some prohibited item (link).

Hope this helps.
