Minimum Salary in order so save a little

Hello everyone!
I want to ask for your advise.
I have a friend who aked me to come to Bahrain to work for while (in mass media). And now I really consider taking a job there. If I would come there, my goal will be to save 1200 Euro (500 BD) each month for 3-4 years or even more.

I don't think the employer will give me accomodation, so I will have to pay from my salary (1 room apartment).

My question is: how much do you think I have to ask for the minimum salary, in order to save 500 DB on month?  Would 1000 BHD be enough?
(I have to say my lifestyle is very simple, is not pretencious. I can live with few money per month)

Thank You in advance,
Steven

Hi steven,

Well, your package salary depends on where you will stay since you already told that you can live with few money. This depends on the lifestyle you have.

Here, flats and apartments prices also depends on the places itself. You may go in more civilized place, sure it will cost you more. Some were getting one whole flat and they're rented another room to other person. (In this case you can save some). You can get a nice flat ranging for 350-500 BD.

Food, depends on you. If you don't cook then you have to spend some money. On the other hand, it's always practical that you know at least basic for cooking food at least.  ( because we are talking about saving money) lol.

Plus, you should get either car of your own or rent-a-car. Rent a car for a small car could be say 150-200 bd.

Have a nice day!

Cheers,

Just an headsup: medical and schooling are 2 things which are on a costlier side, if you could negotiate with your employer it would be a plus.

Good luck

Hello and thank you very much! Now I have seen that there were a lot of other discussions on this matter. Sorry for not checking before. As I can see, around 1300 BD would be minimum to save some money. Thank you again for your promptitude and for your kindness.

Best regards,
Steven
