Hi there,
We're planning to go to Hainan during our family vacation (with kids) in December (most likely earlier Dec).
Any suggestions on the city and hotel to stay at over there?
Are all hotels there next to water or some you have to take a long walk?
Any tips for Hainan in general?

there are 2 main cities on Hainan.... Sanya,... and Haikou.....they are onopposite sides of the Island...I wouldnt stay in Sanya...its overpriced... and overrated.... Haikou is a much better place... and good accommodation can be got at a reasonable price 10 min walk from a great besch.....there is a Fast train connecting the cities.. so if you really want to visit Sanya... and blow your money.... you can easily go for the day..

BTW how do you book the trip to Haikou? When I go to CTrip - the only option I got is Sanya :S
